A discreet lever between 8 and 10 o'clock is a reminder that, as well as telling the time, this watch can also announce the time acoustically. Fascinated by minute-repeater watches, in 1783 A.-L. Breguet came up with the idea of striking them on a spring blade instead of the bell gong used in the past, thus improving the entire mechanism and enhancing sound quality. On this model, both the material and the size of the various components are meticulously designed to deliver impeccable sound. In terms of aesthetics, Breguet opts for a guilloché dial with 24-hour indication and double seconds, or a version in "Grand feu" enamel, an age-old technique that few craftsmen have mastered to this day.
