The History of Breguet Narrated in Melbourne, Australia for Monards
06 Jun 2017

On Saturday, May 27, Breguet Australia inaugurated a series of events to introduce a historic perspective of its fabulous patrimony, the inspiration of its iconic watch collections and its celebrated patrons, to the Australian market.

The first stopover, hosted in conjunction with Monards, took place in Melbourne at the Crown Entertainment Complex where the basement level was transformed into a luxurious and exclusive dining room.

The House and its retail partner welcomed special guests and local media to enjoy a dinner and preview some outstanding fine watchmaking pieces. Many of the fine timepieces on display featured the Tourbillon, a Breguet Invention devised to compensate for the effects of gravity on a mechanical movement.

The evening was also marked by the presence of Emmanuel Breguet, Vice President of the Manufacture responsible for its patrimony and strategic development. A historian by training, specialized in the life and work of A.-L. Breguet, he is the author of the book “Breguet, Watchmaker Since 1775”.
